Manual of Setting Network Surveillance

First, you should know your net type before setting the surveillance, different net type has different ways of setting and linking monitoring servers.

Classified by Net Type:

  1. LAN Link
  2. Internet Link
  3. LAN Host Link via Internet

1:Linking and setting LAN Monitoring

LAN Monitoring as following:

LAN

LAN user could connect the LAN host by Router or Ethernet Hub, so that they can access DVR host by LAN IP conveniently.

Port Setting:

Support change the network setting in the DVR control master, usually adopt default setting in the LAN, if DVR setting has been modified, need some adjustment to connect when remote access.

 Port setting

For example: If Http port has been set to 8080 in the DVR host ,you should input the matching port NO. when using IE to access. If the IP server is 192.68.1.15, you should input http://192.168.1.15:8080. Picture as following:

Http port number is 8080

Socket port is 5510

Socket port setting:

If modify this port, need select the matching port NO. when connecting host.

Multiview users do not need http port

If the port number is 5510, take IE server and Multiview client connecting DVR host as an example:

Click , then choose the matching port to connect DVR host.

There is no serve input column when using IE browser to login, you can input serve name through IP address directly on the IE Browser. If the Http port is not 80, you should modify the port by the ways mentioned above.


2.Link and set Internet

Access DVR server by Internet as following:

Access the contorl server through the public network IP and DVR port when using Internet link.

If http port has been changed, input the IP or add the port to the domain name when using Internet access. Clients do not need http port.

If socket port has been changed, choose the matching socket port when login.


3.Access LAN DVR host through Internet

User could not access the DVR host by public net IP except the subnet IP which has given to the terminal by Router when DVR host is in the subnet. Open UPnP function or set port mapping function through Router, then access successfully.

UpnP function: open DVR software, choose settings—system settings—start  UpnP.
Example as following:

After setting, test remote connecting DVR host, if works, all the function is OK. Whereas, there must be something wrong with UpnP function.
How to use UpnP function of the Router is as following.  

Setting Router
Usually, the default IP of Router is 192.168.1.1, login Router Manage Page through IE, select UPnP function. Please refer to the instruction book of your own router for the details.
If router does not support UpnP function, need set mapping port. Input the subnet IP address and set the mapping port. The extranet user can access the DVR host through the public IP and the mapping port.
